And that’s a wrap!

What a great season we’ve had!! First, huge thanks and a hug to Mary Ann. Being able to have everyone in class was 100% due to her willingness to co-teach. And splitting these 2 classes in half made it so damn much fun. Thanks friend.

Huge thanks to our faithful assistants. They also help keep the work load (and walking) to a reasonable amount. Couldn’t have done it without them.

And to you guys, our students. You came out in every type of weather. You did your homework and posted videos. And every single dog improved-a LOT. Some of the beginner dogs wouldn’t take food back in November, and now they are chow hounds. What made that change? For some dogs, understanding what we are asking somehow triggers willingness to eat. File that info away….with my non eater, taking food is an indication of “I’m getting it.” And be proud…you hung in there, helped them be correct…and they rewarded you by taking food. Win on all accounts!

Those who are on year 2….your dogs did great! Huge improvements! Mary Ann & I are here to help all spring and summer.

As we’ve stated….keep tracking. Work through the summer. Keep the tracks short as it get’s hot…but let them learn! Text us when you post—we will look and comment. and if you get into trouble…let us know. We will get you ‘back on track.’

Thank you all for all the work you put in. See you in the Fall, if not before.

Mary Ann & Judi

I absolutely LOVED the class! It was the highlight of my weekends! Even though I started tracking years and years ago (Judi judged my first bloodhound, Sage, for his TD 1995??!!) I learned sooo much from MaryAnn & Judi! Understanding your dog's behavior is crutial! And every dog is UNIQUE! Buster is the first bloodhound I have started tracking from the beginning with Judi & crew. Setting this solid, positive foundation is so important. I am building a wonderful rapport with my Buster Brown and continue to learn from HIM all the time! THANK YOU, Judi, MaryAnn, and all the helpers of this suberb tracking community!

Replying to

1995??? Holy shit, I am old! And I was fully licensed then too…. I remember Sage’s track to this day, and could probably draw it. Donna & me….soaking wet, pouring rain, and Sage step tracked the entire track and indicated the missing article. What a great dog!

You may not remember this, the dog after you was a Belgian Sheepdog. The owner, a large woman, slipped in the flooding hillside and fell down flat. The dog proceeded to pull her up the hill, it never stopped tracking. He did allow her to get up at the top. Amazing memories from that test….
